Re: Bed Plate Leak

Roonie,

The dealer I have used for service in Burien just got bough by Horizon Ford in South Seattle/Tukwila. Unfortunately for me they closed the parts department in Burien so last week I had to drive to the other location to get some coolant. They are down off Boeing Access Road and I checked out the service dept and they had a lot of diesel truck there they were working on. The majority of their business is fleet sales ans service so they work on a lot of trucks. I haven't had a chance to use them yet but I will probably be in there soon because I just got back from a trip and have oil dripping of the back of my engine. It appears like it is coming off of the bed plate gasket so I would be interested in hearing of your experiences.

John

I posted the question when I was about to buy an 06 diesel SMB and needed to have it checked out and possibly fixed as it seemed to have the bed plate gasket leak. I ended up buying an 06 V-10 instead. Thanks for the info however as I know several PNW members were asking about a good diesel repair shop or SMB shop (i.e. wheel bearings, etc) at the meet and greet.
