Re: Bed Plate Leak

I think it's just down to the dealer, I went to a specific Ford truck service dealer, took them 2 days for the repair and charged Ford extra for the removal and install of all my accessories. Been fine for 6k miles now, they did it 1 month before my warranty ran out. I don't like how they re-ran all my accessory wiring, but can't really complain about that, at least they didn't try to charge me for the extra labor.

Where did you take it locally?

Re: Bed Plate Leak

Horizon Ford in Seattle/Tukwila.

They mostly do service and sales of commercial ford trucks/van and have multiple tech's that only work on the PSD. I have had really good luck with them since I purhcased my van.

I probably already posted this but if you have anything special have it documented on the work order and do a good walk around when you pick it up.

I asked to have it stored inside, they didn't and it got ripped off and some dealers don't cover your loss even while its at the shop.

They tried to put in regular oil and I use AMSOIL.

They took out my AC coolant and didn't put back enough because mine is an aftermarket Starcool.

Idiots cut my bumper off and I had to have Aluminess send the correct parts...If I'd of used my winch the bumper would have broke off.

They didn't hook up my after market lights.

I had to go back and re-add hose protectant to several hoses that were rubbing something sharp.

They didn't adjust the stock headlights....what else, I know there is more.

BTW it took them twice to get it right so don't let your warrantee run out...3 months later it had to go back after a 3000 mile trip.

Re: Bed Plate Leak

Mine is in getting its bed plate replaced as well. It should, fingers crossed, be done today. I also took mine to horizon Ford's Burien location. I will let you know how things turn out.

Cheers,
John

Re: Bed Plate Leak

Got my van back late today, so far so good. We have a two week trip coming up the end of the month and I hope all is sorted.

front of bell housing oil.....

Crawling around this morning I notice slight amount of oil around front of bell housing. Looks like most is coming from higher up on drivers side. 2010 6.0 PSD.

Any thoughts on this as it seems some have had the issue fixed, others leaving it alone?

What I don't want is to later wish I did something. For now it seems very little, truck only has 11,000 on it.

thoughts?
