Belt guard

Got the van stuck in Eastern Oregon a few weeks ago and nearly ripped the bottom belt guard off the van.

Have any of you come up with a better solution than plastic? Right now the guard is held on by one plastic pin.

Mine got ripped off a long time ago. Never put it back, and never had a problem without it.
