I cleaned it up the best I could and loaded up the JB Weld on the outside of the fitting. It's been about six months now and so far so good.

My opinion is that OEM is great for everyday daily driver stuff. For extreme use, I usually go aftermarket. My latest purchase (nothing to do with this thread topic) this week was a Rotopac fuel container. I've been using big box store containers and they just can't hold up. The Rotopac was expensive but it's built like a tank!

Do you own a powerstroke? Pick and choose those aftermarket parts carefully. That, and not sure about JB Weld. It might work as a field repair but would you really want to trust it long-term? The cooling system on a 6.0 is under a lot of pressure. The de-gas bottle cap doesn't vent until about 16 psi.

No, I don't own a powerstroke and that's why I prefaced my post the way I did. Just throwing out ideas.

As far as aftermarket products, I use specific items from known manufacturers in the aftermarket industry. No wish.com type things.
