Talk to shops that deal with classic cars if you decide to go with re-finishing. It's a pretty common issue.

It's been a busy couple weeks and I haven't posted here but I ended up abandoning the stock tank and going with a 40 gallon replacement from Aerotanks.

The van's been immobile so my only option was to have the tank shipped and do it myself. The tank came with some instructions that are pretty good but could use a bit more detail.

Tonight I used a floor jack to hoist it roughly into place, but it got dark and started snowing so I called it for the night. Has anyone installed one of these and if so do you have any tips?

Let me know if you want to see how mine is installed. You may want to replace the rubber fill and vent lines. My fill line started leaking after the installation due to moving it around so much.

Check this post by brian94ht over on Expo. Scroll down to Post #157. He recently installed one and posted in pretty good detail about his install/experience.

While you're over there, check out the rest of his build, it's awesome. Also, he is a member here with the same handle so you can probably PM him if you have any specific questions.

Thanks freeagent. I checked out that post and definitely some good info there. Also BATVAN is pretty awesome!

Larrie, good call on replacing the lines, the old ones are looking rough. If you wouldn't mind i would be interested to see how yours is installed.
