Diesel Exhaust Brake and Performance mods

Has anyone installed an exhaust brake to their Diesel SMB? If so, what did you pick and why? Also, has anyone added any power mods to their Diesel....exhaust, chip, turbo, guages....what brands and why?

Thanks!

I spent a lot of time looking into this and found that none of the diesel performance shops I contacted work on the 6.0psd van. The engine layout, compartment and exhaust design are different, or so I was told. I'm happy with the pulling power and general performance and was always a bit wary about warranty issues. If you learn something different, please post an update.

I agree

Jason;
I agree with Rob on this one.
After our first extended expedition I watched the forums listed in my reply to your origional request for information.
What I noticed more often than not is that those who chose to modify their 6.0L's almost invaribly had major problems, including turbo, injector, headgasket, transmission and other failures.
Based on their experiences I took the safe course, and rather than mess with my engine and drivetrain, I added EGT and Trans Temp gauges.
On our second extended tour of the South and West these two gauges relieved any doubt that the E350SD, 6.0L PSTD, and the Torqueshift.
More gauges are in the future including coolant temp, fuel pressure, lube oil temp, Ampere, boost, power steering fluid temp, and more, not necessarily in that order.
Think long term durability.

Diesel Exhaust Brake and Performance mods

I just reprogrammed mine with the LiveWire.

See this post:

I'll be adding updates as I get more time behind the wheel with it. So far so good!
