Diesel mechanic, Northern California San Francisco, South SF

Looking for recommendation on a good diesel mechanic in the Nor Cal... San Francisco, South SF area. We just picked up a good friends 2006 E350 6.0 diesel sporty that I have been borrowing for years (yes good friend) and finally made him an offer that he could no refuse. Would like to establish a good relationship with a semi local diesel mechanic and then put his kids through school
This forum is am amazing asset! Thanks for your time in advance.
Travis

You might try Left Coast Diesel in both Livermore and Concord. Yelp reviews look good, they share a lot of information on their website, sound as though they know the typical weak links of the various year/model domestic Diesel truck and van packages.

Towne Ford for a dealership in Rewood City. Jay Mento is who SMB purchases their vehicles from (both in the past and currently I believe). From what he has told me, their crews are familiar with SMB after market equipment. If you have an issue with Ford or one of their dealerships, he's the guy to talk to. Helped me out big time.

So far my only experience with the van has been warranty replacement of the fuel pump at a dealer, North Bay Ford in Santa Cruz. However, it was a very positve experience, no really....what I found is that they pretty much do everything for the Santa Cruz area, several diesel mechanics on staff, have done full engine rebuilds on vans, small commercial trucks, etc. Service manager was really good to work with and talk to. This was pretty refreshing compared to working with the big Ford dealers in the valley, have talked to Jay Mento in Redwood City as well when we were looking at SMB's, really good guy, have not used their service dept.

Jim

9/06/13 Edit Wow was I wrong about North Bay Ford in SC, pretty much experinced everything bad about dealer service possible in my 2nd experience with a P0299 code, at one point even denied that Ford had an issue with turbo's on 6.0's....WTF?

If you have an Atlas II transfer case that needs work, Advanced adaptors suggested Valley Hybrids in Stockton.
Good people.
