Diesel Tuning Mods

Has anyone tried something like this on their Powerstroke: Link

I'm a gauge watcher and have nothing to look at in my '02. I'd love to have a tach, boost, and egt gauges in one unit. I spoke with Edge and they can't even say if it will work on a van--not terribly inspiring. Of course they're not the only supplier for something like this. Maybe Banks?

I have a BD Power X- monitor, which displays Boost, as well as EGTs and Trans temp (with appropriate thermocouples). When i bought mine, there was not an A pillar mount available.

Looks like they have a new one too.

The Scanguage is a very useful tool too.

I use both an X-Monitor and a Scan Gauge. They work well.

The Scan Gauge is the quickest / easiest to add, it just plugs into your OBDII (diagnostic) port. The X-Monitor is hard wired.

I've also reprogrammed my computer using the SCT LiveWire. Additionally, the LiveWire adds various gauges, similar to the ScanGauge but must also be plugged in to the same OBDII port. Since you can't have 2 things plugged in at the same time, I just use the ScanGauge, which I like better for that purpose. The LiveWire is a little big.

I recently heard about someone having an OBDII port Y cable so you could split the data output and use two gauges.

I installed the nexus system by auto meter and put the gauges (of my choice) in a pod above the rear view mirror. Nexus is expandable but very expensive. In normal operation they are a standard color you choose but if one reaches a preset warning point the gauge will display in bright red indicating trouble. I also run a scan gauge which really works great. I plan to buy a re-programmer but won't install it until the warrantee is up on the engine.
