DIY Van Head Studs

I didn't have any luck searching, but has anyone posted a good DIY head stud replacement procedure on the 6.0 for the vans? Easy to find them for the trucks, not so much for the SMB/vans

Thanks.

There was a thread about this a couple months back. I know it can be done on the F series without a cab off or pulling the engine but access to the heads is much more difficult on the vans with a 6.0.

Well, yeah... the whole process. Remove heads, inspect, install new gaskets, install the studs, torque, finish. It just seems like the video or photo documented process for the vans is very elusive.

My bad I thought you were referring to stud installation without pulling the heads or the motor.

It's really no different from the trucks except for the engine needing to come out the front.

Just looking for any documented process with the van. Preferably would love to see if anyone has done it without pulling the motor or lifting the body completely off.

For what it's worth, stock 6.0's in vans don't typically have head gasket issues since they are de tuned by 80hp. The exception would be EGR failure leading to coolant into the system.

I don't think it can be done. Just doing injectors on the passenger side requires raising the motor, removing the engine mount, and then lowering the motor. And that's if you have small hands.
