Dynatrac Front Axle - Wheel Bearings Etc...

Hi All,

I need to service my front bearings. I have done plenty of VW bearings, but this will be my first on the SMB, and first on a 4x4. Can anyone provide a quick write up on the procedure?

Also, where are most buying their parts? I'd like to do an order of most of the wear items(tie rods, ball joints, bearings, seals, rotors/pads.....), but am having trouble finding some. I am going off of the 2006 Dynatrac Spare Parts list that came with my van.

Rock Auto seems to have the best prices, but I can only find some of the items on their site. For some reason they carry the outer bearing, but don't have the outer race?!!! They also don't carry Spicer. I'm having trouble locating the grease seal #48816 and the Auto Specialty AR8553 rotors.

Should I call Dynatrac? SMB?

I read somewhere about clearance issues with the rotors, particularly the Ford rotors, and the abs sensor. Anyone else have this problem?

What would be really cool is if Sportsmobile had a parts department for owners where we could get all of these parts, at a discount, that are needed for our custom rigs. It would be nice to buy a set of rotors from them that are already machined to what we need rather than having to deal with it ourselves.

Any insights, tips, recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

The availability of parts makes a good argument for Quigley/Quadvan/Salem-Kroger using stock F350 parts.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.
