Yours may have only 89k but it is 18 years old if it's never been changed. I'd put a new Motorcraft (not aftermarket) one in before I went too far down this path.

I’ve been down this exact same path.
Very frustrating. My rig was low milage 62000kms - but old.
Anyways. To agree with everyone else- it’s the fuel pump.
If you are able and willing - put in a ford pump (they are made by Bosch, or at least a high end aftermarket unit.
Don’t buy a cheap, white box special, or you’ll be doing it again.
Buy the pump and get it back up and running!!!
