Re: Engine fan noise

Jeff ,
I am having Solo/MotorSports custom build a 650 cfm Thermostatically controlled Fan as I type this post . We are just waiting on the Three Position Switch that I wanted ( AUTO- OFF- ON )
These fans are like the fans used on numerous SCORE type trucks and are very durable and supposedly very efficient at maintaining your desired oil temperature's .I will Post information
and photograph's once the project gets underway . Next project is researching the Mfg. of raised Fiberglass Hood Scoop and or Billet Fender Vents to get rid of the accumulated HEAT in the engine compartment . You are responsible for this last bit of upgrade .

Re: Engine fan noise

Greggde

I want a stacked plate design with a elec fan attached, for my oil cooler.

The problem is, I have no good place to mount it.

But I am working on it.

I put a 14 inch elec fan under the hood , that blows air out the hood vents

Cheers

Jeff.

Re: Engine fan noise

On my way to the dealer this a.m. the fan finally decided to turn off. Go figure. Maybe it was because it was 31 degrees, either way problem not solved.
On another note the dealer pulled the turbo due to the engine throwing a code. Possibly getting a new turbo if they cannot "clean" this one. Thank God for the warranty!
I love the SMB but still worry about the 6.0L reliability.

Re: Engine fan noise

And the culprit: Bad clutch fan. Getting replace under warranty today. I was able to get the SMB in while the fan was stayig engaged; they put it on their laptop and noticed that the vans PCM was commanding the fan "off" but it would not shut down.
