Fire and Die

Just went out to run the van. Gotta problem. It fires up like usual, but then it dies right away. I mean right away. Doesn't make a difference if I keep the key in the crank position or not.

Any thots out there??

Re: Fire and Die

Gelled diesel? Fires up, runs 10-120 seconds, dies. Will fire up again after sitting, then die again.

Re: Fire and Die

Yeah, my first post was just a panic quick one as I was heading out of the house and thot I post it to see if there was an answer here when I got home. As I was leaving the computer and thinking about it - duh....(head slap here) I had just installed fender vents as posted by jwintersteller:

viewtopic.php?t=6154

and it flashed on me that I had been beating on the passenger inner fender well to bend over a brace that is in the way of the new vent. Guess what's behind the passenger right side kick panel? Yup the crash impact fuel shutoff (or whatever it's called) I pulled the kick panel and reset the switch and all is well. I would have removed the original post so everyone wouldn't know what a doofus I am. (NO COMMENTS NEEDED HERE!!) but don't know how.
So, now I know the impact switch works and the whole world (as compared to just the folks that know me) knows about my lack of thot process. Sigh....
Hey, at least I now have really cool fender vents. Thanks jwintersteller!!!!

Re: Fire and Die

Actually thanks for posting this. Now I know how that thing works. I always thought it would not fire up or possibly even crank over.

Re: Fire and Die

That's OK, I'd still be scratching my head.
