Gearing and Locker question

I have a 2013 E350 XLT passenger van. Local gearing shop says my only option for my stock axle is a ford factory locker thingy. Tuned out when he told me that was my only option. I’m looking to change the gearing and add a limited slip EATON trutac. Can this be done on my 2wd. Do I need a new rear end for that? Thanks and sorry for the noob question.

Is your rear axle full float (hub sticking out through the center of the wheel) or semi-float (hub is flush/recessed in the center of the wheel)?

You have several options either way, but the full float may require extra parts depending on which locker you want. The full float uses a 32 spline (as opposed to the more common 30 and 35 spline units of other brands) diff so there are less options that are bolt in (ARB air locker and OEM limited slip) BUT you can buy custom made 35 spline axleshafts for $350-$400 and put any 35 spline Dana 60 diff you want in there... including a Trutrac.

I thought that looked like Oceano in your picture! Are you on ADV with the same handle? Ride a 690 by chance? Anyway, I'm not far South of you if you ever find yourself in the Santa Maria area and want to b.s. or need a hand with your van... or motorcycles.

I had ARB air lockers installed front and rear in my 2007...rear axle is a D60 semi-float, and both axles re-geared to 4.56. Don't know if your 2013 axle is any different.

I had “poly performance” install my rear locker. They did a great job. Took them a few extra days to they the correct shims installed and didn’t change any extra.
You have lots of options for lockers in that Dana 60 of yours.
