How to remove the Fuel Filter to upgrade to Bluespring Mod?

Hey Guys,

I'm attempting to do the Bluespring Mod kit on my 2006 6.0 Diesel and I'm stuck at trying to remove the fuel line to the side Fuel regulator cap. I'm trying to remove or unbolt it but it seems like it's not budging and that the fuel lines will start bending as apply more torque. Does any one know of a good method of removing this "side cap" to install the blue spring? Any help would be appreciated?

Btw, while I'm at this I also removed the EGR valve to clean it and I noticed at the bottom of the EGR "hole" the carbon build up was a little "gooey". Is this a sign that my EGR cooler is going?

Often times, yes. If you do a lot of short cycle driving however (i.e. 1 mile trip each way to the store) than it can simply be condensation. If you start getting codes for the turbo vanes sticking, then that would be another corresponding symptom (small leak causes rust on the unison ring).

I am interested if you successfully installed the blue spring upgrade.
