[QUOTE=BrianW;258322. Are you down near Chitina?[/QUOTE

I'm going to make my way to Glennallen where I'll look for someplace where I can get it up on a lift and have another close look. Thanks for the suggestions.

I had an issue where mine pulled to the right on breaking and sort of wandered left on acceleration. I wouldn't say it was a hard pull, but maybe it was. I had changed all the ball joints, tied rods, brakes within 10k miles previously, so I didn't think that was an issue.

I finally noticed that my front sway bar bushing was shot (I was able to move it up and down at the I-beam connection with my hand and without much force). After replacing the bushing with moog parts, the pull went away.

Gravel road? Did something get stuck in a caliper?

Did you drive McCarthy Road? Depending when it was last graded it can be good or terrible.

Well, after sitting all night, the pull went away. I tried to get it up on a rack, but they were booked up for a week. So, after a long drive I noticed it would pull a little as the brakes heated up, but the rotor temps were identical. I'm now wondering if the anti lock controller could be the problem? Anyway, it's totally drivable now, so I can continue my wandering. Thanks to all for the ideas.

I'm headed that way tomorrow. I've had my fill of horrendous roads, so I'm hoping for better.

Well, certainly check the brake temps if it comes back, but you know that.

ABS generally throws codes, at least on my '99, and will leave the brake or ABS light on when it does so.

What Year is the Van. This is Very normal. Before I swapped my Brakes for SSBC I woudl on a regualer bases have the Typical Ford Front Break Caliper Lock up issue.. What Happens is the Caliper grabs to much and does not release as they Heat up. The hotter it gets the more it will grab. to the point that it will Heat the Disk up and you will see and smell it.. You need a Basic Brake Job to get it working better. Lube on the Pistons. But When you have the Time and Funds upgrade your Brakes. You will not be unhappy when you do ..

This guy has the same issue on his F250..

When the ABS light is on.. The Abs HCPump is OFF.. Many people miss that.. IF you have an ABS light on then your ABS system is not on and it will not Pump the system when applied. They just act like a system with no ABS. The ABS light can come on for many reasons but the Pump is the last thing to Fail
