Is this a Dana 70 SRW

Hi guys,
I have a 04 box van that I'm building into a camper. There is a pretty nasty little whine and slight clunk on launch from it, and I'm thinking about going 3.73 and a limited slip in the rear.

Here are photos. I found this thread through searching which is why I posted it there.
What a great forum here though, I look forward to participating!

Here is a link to where I house photos for the build..

Welcome aboard, I can't wait to see where you're going to take this build.

I've always thought these types of rigs would make a great platform to build on. Make sure you keep us updated on your progress. Don't forget to take and post lots of

The Vehicle Certification label shows axle code 56. Assuming Ford doesn't change these codes year to year then you have 4.10 gears, non-limited slip Dana. Code 52 is the same but dually. My decoder ring doesn't indicate D60 or D70, hopefully someone else can tell you.

Hope this helps,
Ray

Re: Is this a Dana 70 SRW

thank you. Very odd because I had a comment from a van owner saying it doesn't look like a SRW axle and that the SRW axles have the wheel right up against the brakes normally. Very confusing. The rear width is only maybe 1-2" wider at most than the front with this setup. It came from Supreme Corporation this way.

Thanks for the comments also! I can't find my camera with a ton of pics of some of the progress including our little "Kitchen" which is mostly just a sink...

Here is the rear tire mount, ladder, and bike mount I came up with. It's on hinges so it swings open and locks closed..

Yup, that's a 70 SRW. The mid-tank cutaways got the same axle as the vans, with the hub against the rotor. The rear-tank SRW cutaways got the wide-track version.
