Re: Leaf Springs
I would do the Deaver. I had issues with delivery but Jeff was 100% on with what he supplied.
I did need to move my axel forward a little and he did it and I needed to make bump stops that went with the lift blocks.
the Ride is way nicer then before.

Re: Leaf Springs
Deaver missed my rear spring count by a leaf. They shipped the extra springs to me for N/C and I had a truck shop in town install them for 120 bucks. Even though the van was loaded up, the springs did finally settle in and the rear sagged. Now with the new leafs in it rides level and has stayed put. My van weighs 11,600+/- depending on extra gear. I was going to go with the New springs SMB is using but they are not rated for my vans weight.

Re: Leaf Springs
I also like the Deaver springs and have had good experiences when dealing with the company.

Re: Leaf Springs
Well its been some time from when I started this thread, life sure does get busy. lol
It did take some extra long time to get answers from SMB, I guess there busy with there new nissans. However it is possible to get a complete spring and shock package from them.
So before I pull out the credit card to get this I just wanted to know if there has been anybody else who has had good, bad or anything other to say about the new springs and shock package that SMB is now using.
Thanks again everyone!
Tracey

Re: Leaf Springs
They (SMB) would not install them on my rig because the springs are not rated for the weight of my van. I am about 11,200 LBS. As far as ride, I've heard good things about them. I think they are ARB packs if I'm not mistaken.

Re: Leaf Springs
My 2011 RB50 has ARB leaf springs and I've been very happy with them. A little stiff unloaded but perfect when I'm camping. My understanding is that SMB has switched to a local manufacturer now (can't find the post)?
I saw this rig in a local shop. He was getting air bag suspension installed. I think other's have done the same. If you already have a compressor it might be a cheaper alternative.

Re: Leaf Springs
SMB West switched to Betts Springs which are sourced right there in Fresno and the shocks are adjustable Ranchos.

I'm in phx too. None too thrilled with my Q-suspension. Long for Deaver. Happy to meet and compare

Has anyone heard of the new ride quality of the Betts Springs with Ranchos? I will be contacting Betts to possibly get a custom set of rear leafs and front coils for my van. I would love some input on the new suspensions as well as Betts spring shop with regards to building suspensions for our vans. Thanks.

Leaf Springs
We put the Betts / Rancho combo on our '06 RB this year, replacing the original setup thar SMB used in '06. The ride is dramatically better. I no longer worry about losing fillings on gravel roads.
