Except that a pair of axle shafts and a set of adapter will cost more than you can usually find a Sterling axle for....

What I have learned from members is I can simply buy new axle shafts, 35 spline, slide them in and install a 35 spline LSD if my choice. No adapters or other changes needed if I keep my stock wheels.

The axle shafts look to cost $300-$400 for a set.

^^^ granted I got a good deal on mine locally, but my 05 sterling 10.5 lsd axle with correct gearing to match front axle only cost me $280 after i turned in my old axle for a $100 core charge. deals are out there...

however, if you decide to go the route you mentioned, i have the 35 spline oem lsd from my original axle if youre interested in it.

Yeah, I guess so if you find one that is plug and play. Used from a salvage yard for $500 perhaps but if it was me I'd still put new bearings in it and ideally you don't reuse the U-bolts. Axle perch needs to be re-positioned and possibly the shock mounts. And then there is the labor of doing the swap which I guess isn't that big a deal to someone that does if for a living but could cost upwards of $1000 perhaps. Brakes might not be a direct swap either? Sorry, not trying to be argumentative but good to know all the options.

Hi guys. Just resurrecting my own thread here. I never got around to putting an LSD in and started looking again. I did find a Dana Power Lock (sometimes, "Powr Lok") for the 32 spline Dana 60.

https://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-23...32-spline.html

This seems to be a good value, should perform better than a stock LSD or open dif. I've got to research it more, and I don't know what "series" is appropriate for my van. Just an FYI I guess. When factoring in the cost of some other LSD's and axle shafts, I might be able to get and LSD of reasonable quality on both axles for about the same price.
