I was crawling around under my van today looking for any and all zerk fittings that need to be lubricated.
'08 E350 Diesel with SMB 4x4.
I found a total of 3. One on the rear drive line, one on each side of the steering linkage. Anyone else find more hidden away somewhere?
I found a switch that I have no idea what it controls. See picture below.
You are looking at the passenger side frame rail just in front of the forward starting battery. Its hard to see since everything is black, but there is a small 2: x 2: x 1/2" thick device with a red push button switch. If I push the button a little lever moves and looks like it opens a circuit. Anyone know what it is? (John K???)
Also right next to it is a strap that looks like a ground strap. The connection on the frame rail is tight, The connection on the battery case is loose and looks like it was intended to be. There are two straps like this on each of the starting battery cases. All with a tight connection to the frame rail and a loose connection to the case. Anyone want to educate me on this?
