Missing Scraeder Fuel Pressure Fitting?

2005 E-350 w/5.4 gas engine, Motorcraft PFS-303 without auxillary ports, this particular fuel pump original to the van: Approx 192K miles, throttle body just replaced due its malfunctioning less than 200 miles ago. Fuel filter also changed same time.

Through my scanner I'm reading about 39 PSI at idle, moving up through 45 PSI and higher at freeway speeds (2000 RPM, 70 MPH) I getting a "surging" feeling while pulling a slight grade, while accelerating from an RPM drop due traffic flow or as the transmission "hunts" between 3rd gear and Overdrive.

No DTC's as of yet. The van seems to run fine in a steady state condition---its the accelerating back to speed where this is noticeable. I will be driving about 260 miles tomorrow so will monitor relative fuel pressure through my scanner, can graph its operation

TIA for any help or advice--Ford Parts Giant has the pump ready to go they claim.

Did you visually check the fuel pump driver module for corrosion?

I'm not exactly sure where its physically located--never had to deal with it before.

I'll be checking the fuel pressure regulator too.

I have an 06EB and the pump driver module is on drivers longitudinal rail in front of where the spare is...Mine is mounted on standoffs, looks original and had it since 80k, so the corrosion issue appears to have been addressed by Ford.
