Need an old school diesel mechanic in Raleigh, NC or central Florida

I have a friend that owns an older short school bus with 1987 7.3L diesel engine.

This past weekend we were at a bluegrass festival near Raleigh, NC and his engine died. I'm not certain of the details, I know he lost oil pressure, and the repair shop where he had it towed to says that--while they no longer work on that old of a vehicle, they expect the repair to be an expensive one, and told him he'd likely be better off replacing the engine versus trying to repair it.

At the moment he's got the bus stored in a secured lot in Cary, North Carolina, but he's planning on towing it back to central FL in a few weeks.

Does anyone know of a diesel repair shop in central NC or anywhere convenient to I-95 from North Carolina to central FL, or ideally a mechanic who works on old 7.3L diesel engines who is located in the Tampa / Orlando area?

Thanks in advance for any replies!

Call Powerstroke Specialty in GA. IDK if they still work on 7.3s but they may be able to recommend a good shop. I don't own a diesel anymore but I still enjoy watching Bill Hewitt's YouTube videos and have learned a ton over the years. Good luck.

I frequent Raleigh NC for past 16 (Family there), and over time I've interacted with numerous individuals which have spoken highly of East Coast Diesel in Durham. I have no personal experience with them, but its my understanding they'll tackle anything (including RV's & tricked-out trucks). Might be worth a call.
