You might want to consider a Fumoto valve for the drain. It makes oil changes a lot easier when dealing with 15 quarts.

In case anyone needs it these are the part numbers for the main engine wiring harness. Injector harness is built in but glow plugs are not. Prices are from Autonationford which is cost + 10.

Removal of the glow plug harness essentially mandates a new one as it's held on by plastic clips which subsequently break.

Anyone know if the 6.4 starter will fit in vans with the 6.0? It's plug and play on the trucks and turns over faster and with more torque.

I'm not sure this is a good idea. I've seen a 6.0 lift a head after it hydrolocked. It wouldn't turn over, and the owner asked my to hook up my Cummins (and a booster pack) for an extra boost to see of the if that would turn it over. It did.... and immediately sounded like somebody threw couple engine blocks in the dryer... Gave us a nice smoke show too.

I'd almost be worried about the 6.4 starter causing damage before you knew you had a problem. The 6.0 starter seems to be fine, when the motor is fine.

I have one on my 7.3 Excursion. MUCH easier oil changes. Previously they had a valve-only version, and one with a nipple (N series) to use with 3/8" ID tubing which made for no-splatter oil changes. They now also have a short nipple version (S series) if you are really concerned about dragging the oil pan over rocks.

6.4 starter is bolt on and compatible with the E350 6.0 PSD. I just confirmed with my mechanic.

Good to know in the future, if my starter ever dies. I have had bad experiences with rebuilds in the past - different van, different era - 1980 cheve diesel.

Ugg, been there and done that. I'd almost rather go with rallypanam's idea....
