One of the first questions a non smb-er usually asks is where does the 50 cal pop out of.

slightly back to the diesel advancements, there's a fellow out in Kansas near where I used to live who's taking a diesel turbine and installing it in place of the engine, and using it to power electric hub motors. Getting crazy mileage numbers and has all the electricity generating power any geek would need.

I'm glad you posted this thread.

Buji,

Given where we have recently seen your SMB,...well... I thought you might have the 50 cal option!

Re: No more "Gas or Diesel" Threads

All of the gas vs diesel threads always discuss the V10. How about the 5.4l v8? Assuming I would be towing no more than a basic pop up for the kids, how would the 5.4l do? Quigley offers the 5.4l option, though their van likely weighs considerably less than an SMB fully outfitted.

Seems the weight of these vans is a constant concern. What's the thought behind an E250 with the 5.4l and a conservatively loaded cabin? Skip all the heavy cabinetry, ac and other heavy items. Would the difference in weight provide any noticeable improvement in performance, mileage etc?

Thanks

Adam

Gas versus diesel
and
