OIL Analysis question

As I recall, someone on the board had an analysis indicating there was fuel in the oil. I was just curious as to the outcome. Was it a bad injector or something else and was ford responsive (warranty) or not.

Thanks for any and all replies.

Re: OIL Analysis question

I have the same result on my last oil analysis. Since I've been having such good luck communicating with my friendly local Furd dealer, Maybe I'll bring this to his attention

I'll let y'all know...

Re: OIL Analysis question

I had a little on my oil analysis last February. My automotive advisor (a knowledgable gearhead at work) said that is common with diesels. The analysis sheet from Blackstone did not flag it as anything serious.

I will dig the specs and try to post them this weekend.

Re: OIL Analysis question

Thanks guys, I am going to call the Ford tech i use to see what his reaction is. My report indicated it to be minor however Jim (Amsoil) suggested an imeadiate fix.

Thanks again, still interseted in any other outcomes from the same situation. I thought Daveb dealt with this to.

Re: OIL Analysis question

Yes I had a poor report. Ford told me that they will not accept it. I told them that I wouldn't be happy to have a high dollar tow or worse, a mechanic that will have to four wheel drive into the backcountry to replace an injector if it fails. Fords reply...sorry we don't just change injectors. So I'm at a cross road. I've only got 3K+ on the new oil. At 5K I plan to send a sample to Blackstone and send another one through out fleet analysis at work to verify. I talked to Jay Mento (Of Towne Ford I believe) and he said test the oil then contact him if it still shows bad. He knows this local owner and should be able to persuade the dealership to act. Hope he can. I can't believe Ford does not test oil themselves. But that's typical of the workmanship I've received from FORD

Re: OIL Analysis question

Thanks for the reply Dave. I was hoping that would not be the answer however I did anticipate it. Corp. America at its best, it's a shame they wont take preventive measures instead they will gamble on larger costs from a few.

Thanks again Dave, appreciate the info.

Re: OIL Analysis question

I checked my February report from Oil Analyzers Inc., and it is almost identical to Dave's, with 7,000 miles on that batch of Amsoil Synthetic Oil, my SMB had a slightly abnormal reading with a LEVEL 2, with FUEL_GC at 2.0% and a VIS 100C_CS of 11.3.

Two folks I respect told me not to worry about it, but I still changed the oil and the filters. I've gone about 5,000 miles since that analysis and I think I will send in another one just to check it out.

Okay I'm open to new worry points, but I need to upgrade my Scangauge so I can worry about tranny temps first.

Re: OIL Analysis question

At this point in time I plan to change the oil at the manufactures designated mileage change times even though AMSOIL is supposed to be able to run longer intervals. It will be interesting seeing the lab results in another 2K miles when I do the change. After 100K if Ford hasn't fixed the problem I will find a true diesel mechanic to work on the problem. Anybody with this problem can phone Jay Mento and make him aware of it. If there is anytime to make Ford react, this is it. With all the garbage the big 3 are going through I would think all the dealerships would be jumping through hoops to keep the customer happy.

When I called Jay he was at Towne Ford.(650) 562-2225. He has ties with the folks at the top in the Ford organization but at least he knows the owner of my local dealership.
