This battle has been going on for years on some of the diesel forums, sort of like the gas vs diesel threads here.

Today 4-16 I finally got Bigly van back in my possession. Through a comedy of I am not around or the shop owner (small shop) wasn't around we finally hooked up.

New steel impeller water pump
New low temp thermostat
Degas bottle cap
4 part coolant flush and new ELC coolant added

Per Dusty, he had to run the heck out of it or should I say he wanted to run the heck out of it to make sure all was good. All cooling systems normal now and running what would be considered normal for a 6L engine.

There was a piece of rubber holding the T-stat open which explains the lower engine temps prior to the stock water pump breaking. Now seeing high 190-212 fish with some smaller hills.

The upside to this is that he is a whiz with these engines and runs a trucking/shipper support business for clients that love the 6L when properly maintained/rebuilt. He stated that mine was one of the strongest feeling engines he has had the pleasure of driving. Should be as I deleted the EGR and added a coolant filter when I bought it at 13k. Did the Blue Spring then as well and all systems are go.

Looks like a Moab run after the Jeepers leave Moab and try to just get away from all this snow - still. Thanks for input from the inmates on this forum.
