Post reliable mechanics you've dealt with

Hope to start a topic where known honest and reliable mechanics can be posted by members.

I would like to start by contributing an excellent contact for the ventura / oxnard area in southern ca.
I have been using Airport Auto Repair for over 15 years.
Mike is a seasoned mechanic with good people working in his shop.

Thanks it is a shag, I was hoping to convince the current owner to take in for an inspection before I fly up, but a good resource to know about, again thanks.

Re: Looking for a Good Mechanic

A lot of us in So Cal have been using South Bay Auto Care, formerly Bob's Brake and Alignment, in Lawndale. They provide excellent service and see a lot of SMBs so they are familiar with all their issues. Getting there is a huge PITA for me, but I won't have anyone else work on our van.

Hubert is the owner. (310) 370-1475.

Another shop I would highly recommend is Rob's 4 Wheel Drive and Fabrication in Goleta. They are Jeep specialists, but Rob knows SMBs and does exceptionally high quality work.

Used to go to SBAC but found better service and prices at SJC Ford. Ask for Rich Rader, service director. Few of us On this board go there. More convenient too since I'm down in OC. Open midnight and they are familiar with SMBs.

Scott Smith Automotive, Roseburg OR. Excellent mechanic, reasonably priced, fast, works on anything.

Re: Looking for a Good Mechanic

4 Wheel Parts in Oakland. Done a bunch of stuff for me when others wouldn't work on that part of the 4x4 conversion.

Any 7 Offroad in San Leandro. Quality fabrication work, although they might do anything.

Re: Looking for a Good Mechanic

For anything 4x4 related, try Jim and Jen at Higher Ground Fab & Off Road in Sylmar, CA.
We aren't their only SMB customers.

22117 Sierra Hwy., Sylmar, CA
Phone 818.367.9905

Nice honest people that know what they are talking about are hard to find these days...
