PowerStroke Bulletproofing Tactics

FYI, the September 2010 issue of Four Wheeler magazine has an interesting article (Part 1 of ?) on making the 6.0L engine more reliable. An intersting read if for no other reason than it explains how the EGR works. Big, big dollars if you do everything they talk about, but informative regardless.

Re: PowerStroke Bulletproofing Tactics

Has anyone posted this article? I am very interested. I don't think I'll be able to find it in stores at this point. I'm starting to read horrer stories about the EGR cooler problems and am getting nervous. I'd like to understand the issues and the legal fixes.

Re: PowerStroke Bulletproofing Tactics

I LOVE the oil filter that leaves fibers in the engine. What a great design.

I spent (wasted?) much of my life working on German cars. Frankly, the stock design looks like something they would do. It may look good on paper, but doesn't take into account real-world scenarios. Casting sand? Really?

Yikes

Good video. The thing to keep in mind for us with the E series though, E series VERY rarely have head gasket issues due to lower HP ratings.

Watch the "Nightmare" video. It's about vans and cutaways. http://www.powerstrokehelp.com/6liter/n ... e/1of2.asp
