Snow Performance has some pretty interesting systems, they've been around for a while, my impression is that they have water injection pretty well sorted out these days.

Funny thing, I just came a cross an intercooler kit for an IDI (truck) at the Turlock Swap Meet, the guy was practically begging me to take it home. It wasn't compete, and I'm trying to mend my 'pack-rat ways' otherwise I might have been more interested.

Using a progressive system from cooling mist with a 22 gallon tank currently. Works pretty good at 18 psi of boost. Still want to add an ic though.

Back on it after a month off

After a month away from this project, I made some progress over the last several days, I'm at it again this morning.

Sorry for the sideways pics, anyone know how to prevent this?

I just though this was a cool flame front shot from the TIG torch

My good buddy John and I have been working on projects together for 50yrs! He's recovering from a back surgery, and still welds like a champ!

A couple of the tube ends that I turned last weekend from 4140 tube, reducing 3" tube to 2-3/4" where it connects to the intercooler nipple (that is 2-3/4") I'll have to buy some 2-3/4" silicone couplers.

Maybe I'm missing it, but how did you relocate them and to where?

I've also been poking around in there trying to figure out how to get intercooler pipes to fit, you ain't kidding about it being tight! When UJoint did the intercooler on AlphaVan, he moved the alternator to the position where the second alternator is on the ambulances. I've looked at that as well but after having to replace one in BFE, in the rain, I've been looking harder at keeping it on top where it is accessible...

The engine oil dipstick; I made a spacer and moved it toward the passenger side 1-1/4”, almost against the heater/ac box.

The trans dipstick tube, toward the driver’s side. I’ll have to remove it and add some tweaks and bends, while maintaining the correct ‘stick out’ for true level reading.

After adding length to the alternator wire and a spacer at the lug connection at the back of the alternator, I was able to reroute it.

One of the AC hardlines; I didn't use the factory strain relief bracket, rather, used a tighter and shorter cushion clamp from my stash of parts.... gained 1/2" right where I needed it.

Moving those things ‘made a hole’ space enough for a 3” cold side IC tube, by making room 3/4" at a time.

I’ll put up more pics later this week.

Man, that's so cool. I have been anxiously waiting to see this get finished and see how it does. I would love to do the same thing on my van if I only had the skill and tools or friends needed. Guess Ill just have to drool over your pics....

Nearly every forum displays images in an 800 x 600 pixel format, width by height. If your images are "taller" than wide they are rotated to stick with the wider side is "up".

The only way to change this is editing or cropping your photos for posting to meet the forum display properties.

It's tight alright:

Making room, move this a 1/2", slide that over a little, keep it all secure at the same time, rubbing through an AC line later would be 'a fail' as far as I'm concerned:

Cold side charge pipes
