Re: rear emissions canisters

I'm going to bring this back up....... anyone out there have success with removing this or plugging this thing? I disconnected the electrical plug and it threw a chk eng light as I suspected it would. I don't have a scan tool, so not sure what code pops up, going to a buddy's house who has one to find out.

My thoughts are to either relocate, or remove all together and have an electrician buddy loop the connection or whatever the term is to trick the computer to thinking its still there so it doesn't throw a code.

Reason for removal/relocate is because I am having a friend fabricate and install functional rock sliders and skid plates (primarily under tranny pan and atlas 2, and I'll start a new thread for that) and this thing is right in the way. Mine looks a little different from WVvan's photo, but I'm assuming (I know...never assume) that is what this is:

If that's your canister you're right. It looks a lot different than mine.

Re: rear emissions canisters

If it is the emissions, I wonder if you could go old school round tank and save some space/tuck it up from the side rails.

My chk eng light went off after about 5 new starts, and I never checked the code. I'll be coming back to this soon, and I'll update my progress.
