Re: Replacing Up-pipes on a 7.3 van

Thoughts after a few days of driving:

Definitely quieter.
My wife didn't know that I changed the up pipes (or that I did any work on the van) and we went for a drive the other night. She commented on how quiet and smooth the vans seems now.

So it's not all just in my head! Awesome!

Re: Replacing Up-pipes on a 7.3 van

Good thread. Looking at replacing mine and it's good to know that they do work on the van. I've been researching and checking different diesel supply sites online. I've found one (Riff Raff Diesel) that has the International Up-pipe kit with a ceramic coating. Supposed to hold in at least 60% of the heat from radiating out under your hood, but they are pricey. $500+ Anyway, thanks for all the good info!

Replacing Up-pipes on a 7.3 van

Ordered my international up pipe kit from Dieselorings today, been noticing a little drop in power, higher EGT's and I keep feeling it's been getting louder lately, pulled the dog house and sure enough the 2nd set of OEM up pipes I had installed several years ago are showing signs of exhaust leak, clear streaks of black soot around the flange connection points. They shipped the kit out same day, nice! will be arriving at my door tomorrow, we'll see how the install goes and results.
