Room for an Aux fuel tank?

I have a 2001 E350 v10 so needless to say my range is limited. I also have the generator tucked up under the van so I'm wondering if there is room for an aftermarket larger fuel tank. Anyone expand the tank with a generator? Thanks in advance

Where is you generator? Is your van an EB or EB?

normally the 40 gallon EOM rear tank fits either van. The 55 gal tank only fits the EB. Both require moving the spare, modifying crossmember, and expanding the evap system.

It's an eb and the generator is just forward of where the spare tire is, right in the middle

That's where the ford aft axle tanks go. One of those "spare tire" replacement tanks might be a good option for you unless you are willing to move the genny. I'm assuming you've explored larger midship tank options?

Does that rule out the tanks they use on wheelchair vans, since the generator is there?

I *think* the rear transfer flow tank goes there too but maybe somebody with one can confirm. Also you can only get that tank on a mobility van now, I think.

I don't know what the options are. My spare has been moved to the bumper so a tank there is possible. A larger midship tank sounds safer though. Are there brands or sites I can research? Thanks

Call John at Agile Offroad in El Cajon. They sell a 40 gallon fuel tank, but I can't remember who makes them (Aerotank?). It replaces the stock tank.

I have a rear mounted tank from a diesel Quigley EB that's for sale in Southern California. I have no need for it and want it gone. Asking $50. Can't ship due to the size and weight, but it would be a good addition for those in need.

By rear mount you mean where the spare tire goes? How many gallons and how does it connect to the existing fuel system?
