OMG, who comes up with these required cycles? These are like some back-door, Trojan Horse, computer-hacker, super secret codes to break into Microsoft.

I agree, they're wacky. I had to find some deserted road to be able to drive so erratically. I followed the instructions for my Tacoma and sure enough, it was "ready" the next morning when I went to get it smogged.

After talking with DP tuners, they said the programmer should show if any monitors had not reset and sure enough there was nothing when I checked yesterday. So I'm not sure when the EGR monitor cleared, but it did.

I thought that just going back to stock was all that had to be done. After the first re-boot of the stock program, I drove about 290 miles (normal city/highway driving) and everything cleared except the EGR. At the shop last Wed we upgraded the stock tune to Ford's latest and greatest snail-tune but the EGR still was still tripped. 100 mile drive back to home and it looks like I'm good. Double checked with a Innova reader I bought today and it also shows all clear. One thing for sure, next time smog comes up, I'm not gonna cut it so close. I copied the driving procedures onto my laptop so I'll always have those on board. After I clear smog I might do a more timely experiment to see if using the driving cycles speeds things up a bit.
Thanks for all the support & links the members supplied.
