Scan gauge users!

I have a ford e350,diesel 2005. What should a normal range be for my water temp?

190f-220f. I only hit 220 going up steep grades.

198-205 highway speeds 70-75 mph

mine stays around 190, but it's a 5.4 Don't know if that makes any difference. Perhaps some more diesel owners will chime in to give you a better comparison.

Sure is nice having it digital though, isn't it?

My 6.0 (2008) stays at 195 under normal conditions. On really hot days it will steady-out at 212 for long periods. The fan comes on at 215 so I have only rarely seen anything over that. I have an OEM front bumper and 2WD.

According to my scangauge, we've hit 230 a couple of times (desert, steep grade, middle of the day type scenario).

Thanks everyone. I used the info you gave me here for a piece of mind on a trip I just got back from. The Scangage works great, and gives me a piece of mind when it gets hot out...
