How much wider is the SRW 10.5 FF

Bit of a resurrection but thought it made more sense than starting a new thread. How much wider is the 99-07 FF axle from a cutaway rear tank than the SF in my 06?

Oh man 5” is more that I was expecting, it would be tight even with factory Alcoa 16” wheels, specifically I don’t think it would clear my slider door without the hinge mod. Lots of wheel well room. I scoured car part last night can’t find one locally easily anyway. The lack of locker options for the SF c-clips is also a reason to upgrade. I need to go back through the thread but did someone say they replaced the carrier and increased the ring gear size from 9.75 to 10.5” is this possible with the SF axle and if so does that increase locker options? I thought it might because there would be more room for the c-clips.

The 9.75” FF can be upgraded to 10.5”. Not so with the semi float.

Keep in mind the 5” is overall so that’s only 2.5” per side. That may clear the sliding door if the tires aren’t too wide, and you cut away the trim from the lower part of the door.

I have an 04 Cutaway SRW wider D70 axle for sale if anyone near Colorado wants one. 4:10s with Fords LS, with brand new rotors. Have all new diff bearings and seals and all new LS parts (except wheel bearings, R&P and calipers) still in the plastic.
Was going to install but Got a deal on a pair of F350s for my 4x4 conversion.

I’m assuming that since the rotors and calipers are a direct swap from SF D60 to the FF D70 that I can measure the axle width by pulling a tape across the outside to outside width of the rotors, correct?

Also this is weird but eaton lists the 10.5” in these years as a ford diff. I thought these were d70s but is it a 10.5 sterling with 8x6.5” hubs? Trying to figure out which elocker would fit the FF axle.
