Re: V-10 Powerchip Questions

I'm very pleased with the improvements 5 Star made to my V10. The service is excellent too. It improves the transmission a lot. It can't wait to get into a higher gear rather than sitting in a lower gear revving out. Big difference.

And thank you j.whitbread for mentioning improved shifting.

I hope to be all over it for a free-er breathing V10 and one that shifts at more appropriate shift points.

Thank you gentlemen for great info.

Re: V-10 Powerchip Questions

I also use Mike at 5 Star for my V10 tunes. His tuner comes with 3 tunes and if one of them is not quite right he makes a change and emails you the new tune to go into the programmer for free. You also get to keep the factory tune and can switch it back at anytime. The factory tune is horrible. With the 5 star mine felt like it came with an extra gear in the tranny and I went from having to focus on keeping my speed an acceleration up to having to watch my speed. Fuel economy was the same but now I keep up with traffic and blast down road with ease.

Re: V-10 Powerchip Questions

have you checked into Banks Engineering www.bankspower.com They were offering a complete Ford line for the V-10"s . I have several friends that had complete upgrade packages , Trans , Engine and Exhaust done on their V-10 Motorhomes with great success . Banks has a complete set of dealers in place throughout the US as well .
