v10 spark plug change interval...?

My 2000 v10 has about 101,000 miles on it, and i bought it at 94,000, 7 months ago. Paperwork says that the spark plugs were changed at 75,000 by a ford dealship; was wondering when i should look to change them again? I've certainly read some of the chatter about how they can be prone to problems, etc but wondering if that means i should change them more frequently or let them be til normal scheduled change?
any advice, experience with this appreciated,
thanks, jas

Re: v10 spark plug change interval...?

Unleaded gas has been great for spark plugs and exhaust systems. Most modern engines require spark plugs at 100,000 miles, and this engine is no different. If you want you could replace them at 150K miles.

Re: v10 spark plug change interval...?

thanks for the info, its been a while since i owned a gasser...aside from the prius which apparently needs nothing at all til 100k....!
i must say that it looks like a decent job getting access to all of the spark plugs! maybe ill have the shop do it when the time comes, which sound like will be a ways down the road.
thanks, jas

Re: v10 spark plug change interval...?

My dealer recommended plug change at 60,000 miles on my 2008 V-10. Cost about $300, but with all the horror stories about spitting out plugs or not being able to change them, I decided to let them do it. I am sure I could have gone longer, but was worried about possible corrosion or other problems down the road.

Re: v10 spark plug change interval...?

100,000 is fine for the V10, unless it is chipped. I found that the OEM spec double-platinum plugs only last about 60,000 running the Predator. I went with Iridium last time around and they still look new after ~50,000 miles.
