"Vintage" Ford Diesel 6.0L VS Today's 6.0L

Greetings Forum Members --

So I am aware and understand the older/"vintage" 6.0L diesels had some major problems requiring Bullet Proofing to run longer and correctly. How about "today's" Ford 6.0L Diesel engines ?

Did Ford ever fix the innate problems ? - Say after 2008 or 2010's engines ? OR - do the problems of earlier 6.0's still exist today ?

Appreciate you diesel aficionados speaking up - Thanks !

The newer the 6.0 (which ended production in 2007 for the F-series, and 2010 for the E-series) have less problems, but many issues never were resolved. The design issues making them susceptible to consequential damage from minor failures existed through the end of production, and that IMO was the real achilles. You can rebuild every component, replace every single part with an upgraded aftermarket part, but a loose battery terminal can still wipe out the FICM and cause fuel to hydrolock the motor and lift the head.
