Re: What Axle do I want? 9.75 or 10.5 Full Float
I had to pull the trigger today and get some new wheels. Did some searching, Craiglist etc., and couldn't find anything used that I would like under the van. Went with Ultra 164's,17"X9". Are there any opinions out there on Ultra Wheels? I couldn't get my Eagle 100's, but these look very similar. They should be mounted up early next week, and I'll post some pics.

I'll be wrapping them with BFG AT 315's.

Looks good and they should be able to use the high lift accessories with that style of rim.

Nice rims, couldn't find the max load of the rim, do you have it?

Re: What Axle ? 9.75 or 10.5 Full Float, went with Sterling
What have I learned that may help someone else?
Spring Pad width on the Vans: 49" OC
Angle of Pinion Flange: 11 degrees
U-Bolts, needed longer ones because Chris's Spring Pads were a little taller: Went with 9-1/2"
Drive shaft needed to be shortened by about 1/2" also changed out the U-Joint to a Super Duty, I think 1410 series.
And someone had asked a couple pages back about the brakes possibly changing, well yes I found out the hard way that they went bigger in 2005. So I had to go to a 17" wheel.
Used Sensor from Old axle but can't tell if it made a difference. My ABS light has been on since I did the front axle, still need to get the right connector to fix that!
Still working out the parking brake. I will report what I work out. Chris at Ujoint has a solution for this with using an adapter that requires a little bit of fabbing of a cable. I am trying to go with more of the stock parts. So far I took the passenger rear wheel cable from the old axle and swapped it with the cable on the Sterling. It's just a little bit short, but everything is hooked up and it does work, but it's not fastened down.
Also, I should have mocked up the brake line before having the pads welded up. I could have had the Brake line tabs welded at the same time. Later this week I will be having the Brake tabs and Shock tabs welded up.
That's about all I can think of right now, but here are a few pics.
First one shows the two Ebrake cables coming from the rear:
Second one is how the cable coming from the Ebrake peddle is out of the mount on the frame, that is so I had enough length to get everything hooked up.

Re: What Axle ? 9.75 or 10.5 Full Float, went with Sterling
This link just came my way a couple of days ago. Seems like they should be able to make you a cable that works. They came recommended from the VW world for what that's worth.
