What problems did you have with your 6.0?

Here's what I've decided to do...

- Long Block Stage 2(either Dynamic Diesel or DFC(Tow/haul option)
- Titan Turbo
- Warren Fuel Injectors 155

We did a fuel return and wish it was done long ago.
It's easy and provides a more consistent fuel delivery than stock.
Plus it allows the fuel to circulate rather than dead end...not much, but each little thing helps.

Regarding cooling options for a diesel van:
* relocate the fluid coolers from in front of the radiator
* install zeta's under bumper deflector - https://www.sportsmobileforum.com/fo...hool-7707.html
* tuning - adjusting the electric fan setpoints + criteria
* body lift
* hood / fender vents
* potentially downsizing the A/C condensor = less interference to intercooler + radiator
* upsizing the intercooler
* Odawg intake manifold
* aftermarket exhaust manifolds (e.g. BD Diesel, etc.)
* upgrade turbo
* upgrade radiator
* ceramic coat exhaust pipes + turbo + exhaust manifolds - https://www.cerakote.com/shop/cerako...-coat-air-cure
* electric fans on fluid coolers

Well fortunately I got rid of both before that happened. The first blew up. Cost $25 grand
to fix. The second one Jeff had to put a new turbo in at 78k. Like I said V10. Less MPG
but a whole lot of peace of mind. And NO baby sittin and F--KIN with it.

That really is a nice list!
If you have the budget, I'd suggest a low temp thermostat & replacing the fan clutch at the same time, along with a BPD FICM.
EDIT: I'd also upgrade to a BPD water pump

Worth mentioning; I recall at some point in the last year or so, one member (believe it may have been Arctictraveller) had their engine wiring harness wrapped with a heat shield prior to install.

Yep... First and last diesel for me 2003 7.3...I bought two of them both for $3,000 each one with 190,000 the other with 210 k.
Both were maintained fleet vehicles.
The obscene cost of working on these and the preventive maintenance OMG...it's like pick your poison Dove what will destroy your engine and cost you five times what you paid for the van...lol😄
my next one I'm just going to do an F-150 F-350 5.4 something along those lines..... Engines are 1/3 price and no worries except for the usual Ford stuff like exploding spark plugs and cylinder heads...lol

No offense guys but there's no need to muck up ucsundog's build thread with anti-diesel rhetoric.

No Hurt feelings here... I'm just super stoked that my wife is supporting this and the way I see it is that I LOVE THIS VAN and I'm keeping it forever!!! I'm just trying to slowly convince her to sell our house and live in our new van. Once the engine and the mechanical stuff is done I will be redoing the interior which will be another thread.

Btw, I already did the BPF FICM Power supply, and the BPF water pump! I'm having Jay test the Fan clutch and if it needs to go then I'll swap it out with a new one.
