Overkill? That's a complete rebuild. Is your motor blown? Fun project.

Wow, you're jumping in the deep end, aren't you Especially if you're going to tow, I STRONGLY recommend a pyrometer and Exhaust Gas Temp (EGT) gauge.

I don't know if it's necessary or not, but some people go with the Bullet Proof Diesel water pump as well.

Heads are leaking coolant and it’s puking out of the degas bottle while under heavy loads or uphill. I’ve been saving for this for a couple of years for this ever since I got the van 5 years ago. Just realized that the aluminum heads are 3k each and I only accounted for one! . In any case, just want to go in once and do all the “upgrades” to make this a 500k Mike motor!

I have the Edge CTs and monitor all the usual key parameters, and yes I also have the BPF waterpump and the manual fan clutch but I ended up changing back to the electric fan clutch but installed the override switch to activate the fan manually. If anyone wants the 7.3 manual fan clutch it’s up for sale.

Dream build. I want to do that someday but have had no issues with my Jasper long block.

If I did, I would consider the aluminum heads from Kill Devil. Also 0-ringed and they come as a set for $3k. I'm not sure exactly the benefit of aluminum over iron heads except for a little bit better flow. I'd definitely do the CNC porting for more. The other issue is the stock heads do tend to crack and the machinist really needs to know what they're doing when resurfacing. https://kcturbos.com/collections/6-0...inder-head-set

I also have a KCturbo stage 1.5. Definitely pushes more air. And really need to have the supporting heat management mods in place. This motor can make 400HP easy.

Subscribed! Please keep us updated as the build commences.

I'm definitely not going to do the work myself and I'm actually looking for builders. I saw another post with recommendations and so I'm putting together a list of which shops can do it.
