I was wondering what type of wheels you guys are running, is there anyone running "Negative Backspacing" for wider tires? Type/Size/Backspacing

Thanks Woot..................

Re: What type of wheels are you running?

I'm running factory F350 wheels with ~6" of backspacing. Keeps the tires tucked inside the body of the van. No need for fender flares.

Re: What type of wheels are you running?

I'm running a Mickey Thompson Classic Lock, 20x10, 4.25" BS. I powder coated the wheels black, and had the rings painted to match the body. I try to stay with a 4-4.5" backspacing.

2006 Ford Super Duty Allow Wheels. Same size as what Quigley put on the van. Tires are 285/70/17E. The wheels were $100 total on Craigslist.

Re: What type of wheels are you running?

I'm getting ProComp Xtreme Alloys series 7089 flat black finish, part number PXA 7089-7982.
these are 17x9 cast aluminum max load 3400 lbs.
The tires will be Nitto Terra Grappler LT285/70/R17, which are rated E, about 3600 lbs, 10 ply sidewall, and up to 80 psi.
SMB says backspace s/b about 4.5 inches
back space is the distance from the inboard flange of your wheel to the hub mounting pad. I think this is partly related to clearing your brake pads along with just having wider wheels.
