OK, I stated before I didn't notice it....UNTIL WE NOTICED it...It was terrible! We had spent the night at Seminoe St PK in Wyoming (N of Sinclair off I-80). It had rained on and off during night. Next morning, we decided to take the rest of the gravel N (Seminoe RD) to catch up to the pavement...sandy soil over mountain portion of road but when we got to lower elevation we met the same sandy soil on the flat section till sd pavement...it was a bitch to say the least...
the nights rain had made the top 4-6 inches like slushy snow...I didn't feel as if we were going to sink Sporty, but the RCS fought us and fought us...
For miles we were getting tossed sideways, slowed up, and as looking/finding the best path through the muck, we even found ourselves thrown/sliding into the ditch where a panic switch into 4x4 got us out...
just when you need power, the RCS was braking/directing power to wheels catching me off guard constantly...The ditch episode did make me way more uncomfortable than I've been in a long time...We decided two, no three, OK four things:
1. Thank Goodness for the Forum and having read and commented on this exact thing (eventually) clued me in what was happening, plus the vehicle w/ squiggly traction lines flashing on and off)
2. KNOW where the RCS button is BEFORE you HAVE to find it...AND it IS LABELED TCS (I know right!)
3. Have your partner/co-pilot operate it, push it constantly so driver can concentrate on driving, helped immensely.
4. Have your camera ready so your partner/co-pilot can shoot some video/shots while pushing sd TCS button...I know easier sd than done, lolol
Again, the timing and info on this Forum is PRICELESS! If I wouldnt have read this thread, I would have probably thought something was terribly wrong (besides th inability to turn it off UNTIL YOU want it back on) Great POST GEOFFF (MY CLOUD)! Stones reference
