Where is the fuel filter on a 7.3 SMB?

So I'm doing a little bit of traveling on my way back to Cali with my SMB. I visited some friends and they gave me 3 new fuel filters for my SMB. They used to have a 2000 F-350 (or 450, i can't remember) and they had a few fuel filters laying around the garage. So my question is...Where is the fuel filter located just in case I need to change this thing on the road? And is there any special procedures I need to take into consideration when changing the fuel filter? Pics would help out...Thanks

The fuel line is under pressure even when the van is shut off. On the 6.0 there is one in the fuel line under the body which is fairly easy to change, and one in the engine that is not something you can do on the road. I'm not sure about the 7.3 filters.

If i'm not mistaken it's located on top of the engine pretty near dead center. I could be smokin crack but I remember it struck me as an odd, but convenient place for the fuel filter.

Hmmm...So would that be under the big plastic thing I see when I lift the hood...It really doesn't look like there is a lot of room to fit anything in the hood area...
