No problem buddy. Drop your tank and take a look inside. If it is ok you can do the Hutch Mod while you have it out. If it is not ok you can avert a catastrophic failure.
Me? I have allot to do on my van. Sometimes it is easier to do things with help. Like when you bench press the fuel tank back into place and then with one free hand try to start the nut on that strap bolt to hold it into place.
I can't find your insulation thread, but look for soot at the connection to the up-pipes from the manifold to the turbo. If so, it is time for new donuts or for flexible up-pipes.
But unless your fuel tank has already been replaced with a known good aftermarket tank, seriously drop your fuel tank and take a look inside before you go any further with your projects. Best of luck!
