Access to inverter etc. under R50 seat/bed

I have a new to me 2006 E350 with R50 interior. I need to repair a water line fitting under the bench seat/bed. It appears that raising the seat/bed only allows a narrow opening and doesn't stay open by itself. Does it have to be removed to gain access? Hoping I'm just missing some easy solution here. Thanks

Garage
I know you can take off the lower seat itself without having to pull the the complete bench.

Yep... two nuts on each side holding the lower seat to the frame brackets - at least on our '03 EB50. Pretty easy.
