Trivia Q.: Why does fridge have a d in the word, but refrigerator doesn't?

A: It's just a matter of not sounding like an inappropriate word. The root word, frigidus, is Latin for cold and is where we get the word frigid. In refrigerator, the g takes its soft j sound. If you want to abbreviate that, take away the prefix re and the suffixes er at(e) or. Well, take those away and see the four letter word that you're left with. In order not to have that hard g sound, you have to stick the d in there to soften it to the softer j sound. Otherwise, we'd sound like a bunch of perverts.

I have the truckfridge tf130 and I have made ice in the tiny freezer compartment.

Mine will freeze water bottles, no problem. I have the chest style Indel B fridge, similar to the ARB style fridges.

My Engel MT45 has frozen my food on several occasions because I accidentally bumped the temp down too far...
Waking up to frozen eggs, milk and fruit sucks!

Ditto the above with my Isotherm Cruise 65. It easily freezes. In our case it is a small freezer that we typically use just for ice cubes.
