Aux. AC Units - Suggestions?

Been doing some shopping for different AC units and wondering what people's thoughts are:

How many BTU's for a dodge extended van with a penthouse top?

Roof top vs interior like a dan hard - I am assuming the danhard would cut down on clearance when loading gear from the back. Block the rear window view as well?

Starcool vs. Coleman vs. Duo Therm vs any other manufacturer - I am intrigued by the low profile roof-mounted duo therm units.

Where is the best location to mount the units so that air is getting to the people sleeping on the bottom bunk? Are there enough vents where some can be adjusted towards the top and others adjusted towards the bottom?

Specific unit recommendations or one's to stay away from?

Thanks,
Louie
