I like the idea of adding a switch there to turn off the dome lights when the barn doors are open. Might have to look into doing that...

Yeah, I think that would be way more useful than an optional speaker switch. I hope that wasn't an option that cost too much.

Thinking about the dome light thing though, it might be easy to wire it into the door jam switch, but then opening the side door wouldn't trip the "auto re-arm" function of my alarm. That would be a PITA.

Those looking to kill the interior lighting (factory domes?) could use that switch location but run its two wires to interrupt the power feed to said lighting. I'd do that at the fixture itself or downstream of any aftermarket alarm system, one triggered by door pin operation.

I've done something similar by adding a switched large dome light over the front seats. With its built in switch I have full control of when or if it ever comes on. Also have full function of my Crime Guard alarm too.
