Broken valve in plumbing under gaucho

The city water valve under our gaucho is broken, stripped perhaps. It rotates but there is no resistance and we cannot fill the tank from the exterior fittings. It also wiggles. I tried tightening the screw but I fear I'm just rounding the slot since I can't see what I am doing. Do I get to disassemble the entire gaucho to tighten a screw?

(If we'd bought the winch, we'd make a fortune pulling cars out of the snow.)

Re: Broken valve in plumbing under gaucho

I had the same issue with mine. I ended up replacing it entirely with a brass valve.

:-( Just in time for peak travel season, too. I always worried about that lockdown design.
